The 21st Century Farmer, is a programme to reach farmers where they live.
The weekly show will look at new products, current farming practices, news, and issues that affect anyone on the land.

Farmers of all forms of agricultre in this modern time are likely to know as much, or more, about world events and technology as they do about the pests or bacteria that are eating their crops or affecting their cattle. In the 21st Century farmers often incorporate the latest breakthroughs in science and technology into their farming practices.

But in many ways, 21st-century farmers are not so different from the farmers who preceded them. They are hardworking, independent caretakers of land and animals—and jacks-of-all-trades. Farmers enjoy having variety in their work, providing the world with food and fiber, and being their own bosses.  In the farmer in the 21st century are true entrepreneurs and thrive on the opportunities in their agriculture and their market.

Successful farming in the 21st century requires knowledge not only of the latest techniques for raising crops and farm animals but also of how to operate a successful business. Balancing the delicate mix between creating a valuable product and then achiving the best value for money for the product incorporates strategic marketing and in many cases successful online techniques.  These modern farmers range from the large crop and stock farmers to the boutique farmer selling to local markets.
